Helix 10SI for 360 Only - Need SI Transducer Connected?

Hey everybody...I just got a Helix 10 and will only be using it for 360. Do I need to have the SI transducer connected for the initial startup? I am assuming that I do notneed to have the SI transducer connected to the unit during normal operation for 360 (just need the 360 transducer and GPS puck connected). Any help is appreciated.

You do not need the SI transducer connected unless you want the depth displayed.

Don't need the GPS/Heading Sensor antenna connected unless you want to mark and view waypoints on the 360 view.

Turn Sonar OFF if you don't connect the SI transducer or any other transducer for the Depth readout.

It does not do depth, just range. If you want a depth readout, you need a depth source (2D sonar). If course it will show the water column and you can match it with the range rings to get depth estimate.

    Wayne,

Thank you. One more question. If you have a 2d source for depth, can you have it display on the 360 screen, or do you have to switch back and forth between 2d and 360 to know your depth? What about split screen with map contour lines and 360?

    Thank you,
    Mike
