I will try not to make this too confusing. I have an Bassport. 2014 model. Ever since it was new, it had a Keelshield on the boat, and the keel always rested some weight on that front bunk that runs to the spare. Never thought it was much and always though that was normal. My hull also didn’t rest on the center roller.
I had a Hamby’s bumper installed and it is much beefier. I noticed that the keel was exerting so much weight on that bunk now......that the carpet is pulling forward when loading the boat. It was also harder to load like the keel was fighting me sliding up to the stop.
Launched today and unbolted and removed that bunk and reloaded boat. Loaded easier, but now it appears the hull is resting on the roller, so I am assuming that the front bunk was supporting enough of the hull to keep the boat off the roller.
What is that board for anyway? Is it supposed to support the weight of the bow to some degree?
What adjustments to all of the bunks do I need to make to correct this so the boat is supported properly?
thanks in advance!!
