1999 Evinrude Ficht 225hp - Setting TPS to Spec w/Diagnostic Software

    1999 Evinrude Ficht 225hp
    Model# E225FPLEEO

Throttle Position Sensor & Cap Assembly 5000807

I’m in the process of replacing what I think is a faulty Throttle Position Sensor (part #5000807) on my 1999 Evinrude.

I have the service manual and the diagnostic software.

Using the software can someone tell me what the procedure is to set the new TPS to Specs?
I couldn’t find anything on this and I’m not sure if I have the manual for the software. What I found showed how to set the ETEC engines to Spec but nothing for my engine.

    Thanks

What moves your TPS? Is it a solid metal rod or a loop of wire?

I was hoping to change out the TPS over the weekend. Does anyone know if the new TPS has to be calibrated?

This was the only information I could find and it says it's for the ETEC engines only. When I connect to the laptop I don't see any options to set the TPS.

The manual does not show a procedure for calibrating the TPS.

Thanks Dan. Does that mean I can just swap it out and it should be good to go?

The slots allow you to adjust the tps. There is a parameter from 0 at idle and the upper limit.....

You want the TPS voltage to be about 0.5 volts at idle

it is what it is usually. adj it at idle and what the max is will work. looks like a gm tps sensor replaced hundreds of them in the day.!!
