    Speed and boat condition

I’m 95% done on my blazer 190 rebuild. I bought the boat cheap knowing the problems I faced. Drivers side stringer was completely mush, passenger and center were half good. All the foam soaked, transom and all wood connected was wet. There were several deep chips along pad and a few on strakes. I have completely rebuilt the boat, all new wood and glass(epoxy resin) repaired all chips on bottom of boat and repainted bottom with interlux VC performance epoxy. Not sure how much weight was lost due to Waterlog. The boat ran 63 mph prior to rebuild running mercury 200 carbureted a 25 tempest, 14” jack plate, 1.5” below pad at 5900rpm. The jack plate was a 6 and 8 bolted together, more redundant weight. Now I installed a single 12” manual plate, probably another 20 lbs lost there. Will speed gains come from just weight loss and chips on pad repaired? Or does the structure strength of the boat play in as well? From what read this boat should be capable of mid to low 70s.

If the transom was flexing it would lose speed with loss of lift.

Speed is basically weight and horsepower. Setup gets the icing put on.
There's no way to know what's going to happen until you run it. Wild guess until then.
But...you did a lot of work, and sure hope it paid off.
