    26 T2 (15 1/8) SHO Prop on a 2017 721 Pro XP - Good Combo?

I have switched to a 12" Bob's hydraulic jackplate.2017 721 ProXP, Yamaha SHO, 26T2 (15 1/8) prop, stock. I'm getting 72mph at 5400 RPMs, 2 people, light tackle and full tank of gas. Cannot get any higher than 5400 RPMs. Bob's gauge shows 2. Any ideas on how to raise my RPMs? Motor has 28 hrs. Thank you.

I put my 26 t2 back in the box and run a 26 Bravo 1 XS with the 10” TH marine manual plate set at 2” below pad and run 5800 to 6,000 at 75 mph on my 721 Sho set up with 2 power poles and a medium tourney load

I would really like input from someone running a hydraulic jackplate. Do I need to maybe get down in pitch on my prop? For those running a Bob's, what's your gauge showing? Where are you running at? 2? 3? In between? Please let me know. Thank you.

You'll have to measure your p2p at different gauge readings to know where you're at. Gauges can be calibrated differently and motors can be mounted in different holes. You should be able to turn a 26 higher than that, I can turn a 25 to 6k in Tn heat and humidity with a decently heavy tackle load and full gas

Would a 25 benefit me in terms of increasing RPMs?

I have run 3 different 721's and owned 2 of them. They all had 3 different jack plate styles and brands. Forget the jakplate setting it means nothing unless you know what each number is relative to pop to pad. For example my 2018 721 has a 10inch Atlas with a Honda rigged on the 3rd rig hole so my jack all the way up on 20 puts the prop 1/2 inch below pad. On a Atlas every number is 1/4 inch, so if I want to run 2 inches below pad I set it on 14.

My last 721 that I owned had a 8 inch manual jack plate and a 250 sho I always ran a 26 FXP at 2.5 inches below the pad. That Boat with a very heavy full tournament load and 2 10 foot blades would run 71 to 72 depending on air temps.

start with it up not down, a T1/T2 on a SHO on a Phoenix can run fairly well as high as you can get it, most of them are running around 2.5 P2P or higher
if you cant turn it 5900 to 6000 all the way up you are not going to on any setting, but to your question above, yes a 25 will get you a couple hundred RPMs

The T1's will not turn loss until you get them high...I'm talking 2" or less P2P..if you've trimmed all you can trim and still stuck at lower rpm's, raised that motor! T1's will feel your boat feel like its really trying, nut just not there..then you bump that trim or raise that motor a little further, and boom..it lets go and starts running...a stock T1 just doesn't have enough lift to really make a boat run...get a stock Bravo 1 XS 26... you'll love it and it does everything good!

    Falconpilot is right...
I have a Bob's 12" on a 921 xp....A 25T2 is your prop. Start holeshot at 2 and raise your Bobs to 3+ when on plane. Even close to 4!
That get rpm's up...Watch your water pressure and stay over 11 psi.
What you really need to do is raise your motor 1 hole from bottom. Then you won't need to have your Bobs so high when you run.
A 26p Bravo 1xs with all holes plugged will be your 4 blade if you get one.

EDIT: Do you have a digital rpm gauge? If it's analog, it could be off. The dip switches could be set for a Mercury, mine was.
DREWTEC has a pic of how they should be set for a SHO. I'm sure he'll post it if you don't have a digital gauge.

I have the Yamaha digital gauges. Once again, thanks for all your input. I'll try to run at 3+ or so later down in the week. I will let you know how that goes.

My 26 fxp on that set up would barely get me up on plane with full wells. It would run 69 mph at 5600. I went to the fury 4 which seems decent for the big water I live on but I still think my old 25 T1 was the best prop. My 721 has never seen 72mph it's a lead sled

Update. Today took the boat out on the river, light chop, against the water current, about 1.5 mph water current. I managed to see 74 mph at 5600 RPM. Bob's at 3, the motor trimmed up about 7/8s. Not bad. If I can only get a few more hundred RPMs, I'll be a happy camper. 3/4 tank of gas, 20 rods, full tackle.

I had to raise the motor up one hole on jack plate you should be able to turn 5900 or more with the motor at the right height I’m turning 6100 with a blue printed one with two people two 10’ blades dual console 4 lead batteries and a lot of tackle 3/4 tank of fuel

Run the motor up higher and see what happens. I run my t1 up around 2.5" and have run it up to 2" If that doesnt help then get that one worked to a 25 and you will be right at 6k rpms

You should be running the SHO between 6100-6200 with that prop...the SHO wants to run there...if not, I'd bet about anything your making oil if you've never seen those rpm's...I measured my P2P again...I'm running my Bravo 1 1/2" below pad...

i had had same problem you are having with your T1's...if your trimming up,all you can, you're going to have to raise your motor a hole or two..

Went out again yesterday. Myself, 70 degree water, light wind, full tackle, half tank of gas. Bob's at 4.25, motor trimmed up at about 7/8. 75mph at 5900 RPMs. I think I am where I should be. What do you guys think?

That doesnt sound to bad. You will pick up a little when it cools off. I'm thinking about going to a 24 because if my talons. The 15s are HEAVY. That or a baileys foil. Something to help the holeshot when everything is full on tourney day
