joepa.is in canada. texted me this morn and wanted me to ask 2004 evinerude 250di. said down on power top port throttle body blowing air out. plug is black with carbon, sounds like reed broke. he wants to know if its ok to still run it?

If the reed is indeed broken he may have cylinder/piston damage already, may also be a bad injector. If he can find a marina up there to perform a compression check that would be best before causing any further possible damage.

Would a bad injector make it blow back through the throttle body too? Didn't do a comp check yet.

No sir.....I'd look thru the throttle body and see if you can see a problem with the reed.
