    Shaft collar for Ultrex TM

Does anyone remember the shaft collar post here from back when the Ultrex came out? I can't find it and I am looking for a shaft collar for my Ultrex but do not know the exact size of the collar to order.
    Thanks

It would be something like this

You can order straight from MK on line parts.. There usually pretty fast and not that bad on prices.

Would placing that collar above the factory collar give you more flexibility by allowing you to use the factory collar to raise the motor temporarily if you needed? Seems like putting it below the factory collar would make it really difficult to adjust on the water as you'd need to break out an Allen wrench.

I like the idea however, and ordered one of the collars from Amazon last night. Found the exact one you listed in your post

You can fix a slipping collar without impedding the ability to adjust the depth.

Use a shim made from a piece of thin wall plastic pipe cut in half and the same length as the clamp between the shaft and the clamp.

That would work -- plus you could still adjust motor height.
The golf bag tubes at Walmart are the same diameter as the shaft and there thin plastic...

I just got two of the Aluminum versions today. It is model 2C-131-A

I put one above the adjustable collar against it, and one a few inches below the bow guard to limit raising the motor. So I have a minimum and maximum height adjustment using the factory adjustment.

You are probably better off with the aluminim version you have since the black oxide one I am using already has corrosion after only a couple weeks. Uggg!

Since I am new to this I gotta ask.....
What improvement does this make over what comes with the motor standard?

    Thanks.

Some have had an issue with the motor height slipping down due to the way the height adjustment device is made. My motor is very new and may not have that issue, but I got the aluminum collars anyway.

Also note that by using the collar it will inhibit your ability to change trolling motor depth if needed.
    But there are other remedies.

I put the top collar above the adjustment collar. I put the other one below the bow guard to limit how much the motor can be raised.
I do not loose any height adjustment range I want.

Thank you for the information. I did a little research on this and somewhere I read that MK knew about a few of the TMs having this issue and had done a mod on the newer motors.... But I dunno.

Fishinfireman.... What other remedies? Also, I respect you for the job you do. My brother is a retired lieutenant for the fire department in a very major huge city in the southeast. I don't think I could do some of the stuff he had to do inside a burning factory or building....kudos.

Here is a post on how I fixed my old Terrova..You can do the same thing on the Ultrex.. Luckily my Ultrex has not slipped YET.
By doing it this way it held fine and I was still able to adjust the motor height by simply loosening the knob, instead of having to remove some kind of collar. One guy used a thin piece of plastic as a shim between the collar and the shaft.

Several have posted about there collar not holding the shaft in place.. One of my old Terrovas had that issue.
Here is what I did to mine. One picture is of my new Ultrex which is not slipping YET. Notice how the collar is totally compressed where the bolt is, yet has a noticeable gap next to the shaft.
The second picture is the modified collar from my old Terrova.. First I filed the inside of the ears a little then made an aluminum piece to use as a stiffener. Worked for me !!
