    when putting new line onto the reel, make sure that the line is coming off the spool the same direction as it's going onto the reel to prevent line twist. You can also use line conditioner like KVD lure&line conditioner which helps or go with braid and add a flouro leader.

    Drag that line behind the boat with nothing on it. It will straiten out the twist. Or most of them.

    Don't use fluorocarbon as your main line...problem solved. I drop shot with 20 pound Power Pro super slick and a 12 foot leader of 8 pound seaguar invisx. Fluoro and spinning reels have never mixed well

    I would personally recommend 10lb braid for your mainline though if using a leader.

    Using cheap drop shot weights with not so good swivels can cause this as well.

    I use 6 and 8# floroucarbon. No issues with line twists just use common sense.
