    Question STERLING OWNERS.....NEED YOUR HELP!!!!

    not getting ANY help much from Mother Sterling/ AMS...
    see the email below, as this is pertaining to the STOCK BOUNCE BUSTER they were putting on all gamblers since 2000 with the factory recessed foot tray...
    i know they also were using these on the STERLING...
    i switched from MINN KOTA to MOTORGUIDE and need one ASAP...

    here is AMS' response:

    The parts department advised that this is not a part that we stock. You will want to find a different supplier for that part.

    i guess if you are ordering a NEW Sterling you better not order with a MOTORGUIDE....

    The part you are looking for from us as a manufacturer is not something that can be purchased anymore because it is no longer being made. You will have to do an online search for what you are looking for."

    Why do you even want one? If the trolling motor is mounted and adjusted properly, they don't bounce.

    Wrong wrong Wrong it will break off the small latches on each side if running in rough water. Vibration on the two latches will eventually cause breakage over time. I know this to be a fact at least on Minnakota.
    Low Slung I replaced the Motorguide with a fortrex and remounted the bracket on the fortrex beam. I can make up a drawing and take a picture with cell phone of drawing demensions and also take pictures of fixture. Never sent a picture on this forum but I can text pictures to your cell phone. We have spoken before on the phone. If your interested in this let me know and I will do this for you. If that doesn't work I can mail to you.

    Down here where we are, on the lakes we got tons of wake boats, on the river(albermarle sound) we get some wicked wind swells...
    i ran it 2xs now without the bounce buster and it is definatley gonna shake and loosen every bolt and joint on the motor mount without it...

    because the STERLING recessed foot tray sits BACK about 8" further than the 2100 or the 2200, causing the positioning for the standard motorguide bounce buster to be DIRECTLY above the Foot petal when in the STOW position...

    Want to give an update to this....
    a buddy of mine who is also an ex gambler owner(now drives a sweet bullet) had an old bounce buster from his 2002 Intimidator 2000... he graciously gave it to me...after a Little modifying of the length and width of the support tubes, I got it on and it works great...
