    GMR Good, bad, and ugly

    THE GOOD:
Started as a great weekend as my wife and went fishing after work Friday afternoon. We caught a few smallmouth from a section of the river that used to not be accessible. Now they have removed a dam and I can get through it with my jetdrive. Above that is a really old and broken down lowhead dam that is most of the way under the water. Short video below running through the section:

Then Sunday I got out with a friend on a different section of the river. We caught some fish, the biggest around 3#.

    THE BAD:
We had to cut the day short after I took a wrong turn through a shallow water area and skipped across a rock! Oops why is there water in the floor? Turns out that put a hole in the boat. I also found out the switch for the bilge pump stopped working so we are taking on water and the only way to get it out is to get on plane then pull the plug. No more fishing today.

    THE UGLY:
The size of the hole is about twice the size of the drain plug and is located where the hull and the transom are welded together.

It should be easy. Just have to contact a place to weld it.

I am thinking it is about time to put UHMW on the hull. That might be my plan for the winter.

Fixed up and ready to go again! The hull was welded and I fixed the bilge pump problem over the weekend. Time to jump another gravel bar and do it all over again!
