Double the Useful Life of Your Braid

Use this fishing hack to double the useful life of your braided fishing line. This hack will show you how to successfully reverse your braid on your fishing reel to get 2x the life out of your line. This works when you want to reverse the braid on the same reel. This also works great to pull your braid off temporarily to switch the reel to mono or fluro...then put your braid back on at a later date

Braid last for years without going bad. I'll forget how by then.

Lol I was drinking water when I read that, almost spit it out. I’ve done some real dumb stuff trying to “reuse” my line.

In 20 years of fishing with braid, I've never felt the need to reverse it.
    Don't worry Ma'am....
    I'm only here for the

What braid are you using? I have gone 2 years, but then reverse it...my big trolling rods that have braid, I let go longer....but never would think about 10years.

With fall and winter approaching, I am going to be removing the braid on my frog rod/reels and keeping it on a spool over winter. I am going to put mono & fluro on them for the winter and switch the braid back for next summers frog season.

Take a broken rod, cut it down to maybe 2' and then epoxy another reel seat facing the existing one. Go right from one reel to another.

I build rods so it was easy but you don't need anything special to do it, just a couple of broken rods and some epoxy.

Been using the method in the video for years, but get a section of all thread, a couple nuts and a couple fender washers and set up an arbor on the spool. The drill bit is not a good idea. I use a section of disposable wood dowel to remove line for discard also.

I've still got some original 50 lb Power Pro from the early 2000, just moved some to another reel a week or so ago.
