Have a 01 225 that has been giving me a few issues this year. I have checked everything I can think of. Idles fine in neutral but if you put it in gear with out applying power with the hotfoot it idles rough and will die. After it warms up it's not as bad wont die. Injectors were tested over the winter by don. Thought that was the issue but fixed everything except this problem

Have the stock metal reeds been replaced? I had a 2000 Opti 225 that idled like that. Had a few chipped reeds. Bought TDR reeds from Don and ran MUCH better

Yes it has carbon fiber reeds
Anyone know what the throttle plate air gap should be on this motor starting to think that might be the issue
