Exclamation Sears apparently making new alliances

Was in Lowe's on Friday, walking to the hardware dept when a red roll around tool box caught my eye. Took a double take and yep, there it was, Craftsman. Was in the BBQ section and the next isle over were Craftsman portable generators. I know the local Sears doesn't get a lot of traffic, but I use it for most all my tools. Would sure hate to see them go away. I remember as a kid waiting on the Sears Christmas catalog every year. They always have had great products. In my opinion, Kenmore is some of the best appliances out there.

Has nothing to do with Sears at all.

Stanley owns the Craftsman brand and can sell it wherever they want.

Was not aware of that. Probably why they are also at Ace Hardware.

"In March 2017, Stanley Black & Decker acquired the Craftsman brand from Sears Holdings. Sears maintains the right to manufacture and sell tools using existing supply channels under the Craftsman name for 15 years after the deal closed. In April 2018, Lowe's began selling Craftsman tools."

Sears can kiss their butts goodby. It is just a matter of time until they are liquidated.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that's true. Buying K-Mart wasn't a real smart move IMHO although that's probably not the only reason for their position.

About 30 years ago I purchased an inexpensive craftsman belt sander. The next day I found the exact same sander st the hardware store for $10 cheaper with the black and decker name on it. I also have a Kenmore stove and refrigerator that are over 20 years old and were made by GE.

Kmart bought Sears, not the other way around.

Well, I'll be damned ... I sure thought it was the other way around, but nooooo. K-Mart did buy Sears, but the new corporation formed was Sears Holdings Corporation.

Not quite. Stanley bought Black & Decker in 09, then Craftsman in 17.

Stanley, an American company that is no longer an American company. Obama ran them offshore.

Well Sears did still had a better "Brand Name" than Kmart did at that time which isn't saying much.

It is a shame but if you can't adapt to changing times that is the results.
