The 150. Always get the maximum HP rating for the boat. You can always go slower and get better fuel mileage with the 150 instead of running the 115 wide open.

There is a big difference between the inline 6 cyl black max and the v6 even though both are 150's. So horsepower is not exactly the same on all motors.

    Have had 3 115's (2 2-strokes and 1 four-stroke) and 1 150 2-stroke.
The performance difference from 115 to 150 was considerable.

Do yourself a favor and go with a 150, my thought process is that it is always better to have power and not need it than to need power and not have it.

If you were not happy doing 36. What speed do you want to go. A 115 would probably be close to maxed out getting you above 40. A 150 would get you the speed you want with some extra.

    That's it in a nutshell.

Top end speed, yes I’d say that’s it in a nutshell but HOW you get there is the key here. Since you’re asking this question you’re not a speed demon. If you were the question would be which 150? Imo going to the 115 will give you considerable more power and fuel mileage based on the age of your Honda 90. Going to the 150 pits you in a different class, everything costs more, like props!

If you plan on ever ever selling the boat a new 150 would make the boat more attractive and like someone else said, I’ve never heard someone say I wish I had a smaller motor!

If the price difference between the 115 and 150 is something you can handle, I’d suggest getting the 150, if not get a 115 Etec HO or whatever brand you like’s top 115 motor.
