    Ultrex install

Im going from Motor guide 109 to the Ultrex112, does anyone know if the mounting holes in the deck will be the same or do I need to drill new holes?
any other words of wisdom for this install??

I will add posts to this thread as I continue to run into stuff

I do not believe the Motorguide holes will line up. I just received my Ultrex today and plan to install Saturday, so I am interested to hear about any potential advice others can provide as well.

Check with Jones but I think he has said that they do line up.

Or just drill the mount to match the existing holes in the boat

I just went from Motorguide to Ultrex. The holes do not match up. I had to drill new holes.

They line up! Take the black plastic side plate off,3 phillips heads, more holes there. I did same, motorguide to minnkota,no drilling needed.

I went from x5 to ultrex. Mine did line up. I used the 4 that my x5 was mounted with. And used same blocks. Worked great.

Yes they will line up. As noted above you have to take the black covers off the side of the mount to expose more holes. I would play with the mount and find where all the holes line up before putting the motor on. Will make it easier to move around.

MinnKota's holes on the Edge, Maxxum, Fortrex, and Ultrex will all line up with Motorguide holes. You may have to remove sideplates or motor rest to reveal holes that have predrilled in the mount.

They lined up on mine.... BUT using my existing MG holes the Ultrex head stuck out past the gunnel... alot. So I had to drill a few more new holes

Triton 19 XS Elite, 225 Mercury Pro XS, Minn Kota Ultrex 112, Hydrowave H2, Twin 8' Power Pole Blades, Power Pole CHARGE, Lowrance HDS 12 and 16 at console, Lowrance HDS 9, Garmin LiveScope at bow, Mercmonitor, Rigid Industries Deck lights and other stuff to come that will make me go more broke

Mine also stuck out to far from the gunnel at the head. I moved it over maybe 1 inch at head end.front holes lined up ok. and had to drill 2 extra holes. Now mine sits better inside boat more and is even easier to pull cord. Also my Triton cover now fits really good.

And somehow I did this to the cable that goes from the controller head to my electronics. How do I fix this?

Link cable? If so it's an Ethernet cable.

I soldered in a male connector and use a standard ecable to the e-switch.

Other than that you'll have to purchase a new module w/cable for approx 250ish.
