    Golden Age Pass

Hoping someone here knows the answer to this.

I got a Golden Age Pass earlier this year. I know that I can launch at a state park for free. What I don't know is what happens if I have someone in the truck with me who does not have a pass.

Are they required to pay the day use fee just to ride in with me?

You can find that info on the DNR website.

It covers day use for all passengers.

I contacted the DNR and was told that if the ramp is outside the day-use facilities there is no charge, but if they are together there is a charge.

That doesn't mean a state worker didn't give me bad info.

So for instance, entering Smallwood state park there is a fee per vehicle, not per person. You should be okay.

Smallwood is one of the places that I use so I contacted them. Their response was as long as I am launching a boat those in the vehicle with me are covered by my pass. If I entered the park and was not towing the boat they would be charged the day-use rate.
