    2018 190 TX
115 Pro XS 4S, motor flat on transom, 21 pitch black max
Myself and passenger, full gas & 3 batteries with normal fishing load
Hit 48 MPH GPS at 5500 RPM (9% prop slip) with some throttle left, boat got squirrelly (stern kicking out to side) so I had to back off on trim/throttle. Hole shot averaged 6 seconds.

Should have 19 pitch X7 installed within next month and raise the motor two holes. I'll update this post with results after testing.

OK, I received my 19 pitch X7 and I'm updating this post. I had the motor raised to the third hole.

Before I installed the X7, I wanted to see what the black max 21 pitch would do raised up to the third hole. Hole shot improved to 5.5 seconds but prop slip went to heck. I hit 42 MPH (GPS) at 5500 RPM (21% slip). I didn't bother any further since it was obvious to me that that setup was a waste of time.

After installing the X7 hole shot dropped to 4.5 seconds (25% improvement). I hit 49.2 MPH GPS at 6300 RPM indicated on my analog tach (10-11% prop slip). Most importantly, the boat rode very solid and stable, no handling problems at all. I feel that I can pick up another 1-2 MPH and reduce slip by playing with the trim a bit.

I want to express my thanks to those who "blazed the trail" on the setup and provided me advice. It changed a boat that was a bit spooky at 45+ into one that I feel safe and confident in at WOT.

Most of my info is shown in my signature. I've always had most of my fishing equipment in the boat.

So full tank of gas and empty livewell my top speed was 47.2 @ 5735 rpm's. (Cold Weather Temps). best top end during the heat of the summer was 44.8 at 5745 rpm and that was a struggle to hit it. Though I'm not a speed freek I do open it up from time to time just to clean everything out of the system. I normally will cruise if I have any distance to cover @ about 35 mph somewhere in the low 4K rpm range.

Tracker 190TX - Stock Setup; best I can typically get is around 45MPH at around 5.3-5K RPM. Definitely a little squirrelly when I try to trim as much as I can.

What Prop are you running? You can have a good prop man add cup to your prop which should help reduce the squirrelliness. If your running a 3 blade they like to run deeper in the water and trimming up will cause you to have blowout which helps create the squirelliness. Going to a four blade prop will also reduce that issue. There is a trade off doing that such as your top end will be reduced but prop slip and overall handling will improve. There are those here in the forum that are getting 50+ out of their 190's with the same motor you are running.

and here I thought I was burning when I hit 31 in my rig! LOL

Getting a new prop, and going from 14 pitch to the 12 pitch they told me to get from Mercury customer support. im topping out at 4600-ish RPM...and the dude I talked to told me I should be running in the 5k range! Hopefully this prop change helps and ill hit 50 too! prolly tough to do since its a 50hp itself! hahaha
