How can I fix my carpet

I purchased my boat new in 2015 and have the padded front deck with Minn Kota Fortrex 45 inch shaft . When I got my boat I installed a Ranger carpet protector on my 721 for the bounce buster bar, which is a round hard plastic disc. I'm thinking about getting a Ultrex 52 inch shaft but that means moving the bounce protector disc which has left a big deep dent in the padded front deck carpet. Part of the dent might get better over time but the center was mashed so hard and deep I don't ever think it will return to normal. Do you guys have any ideas how to fix this ?

If steam doesn't bring it back, nothing will.

I removed an old hydrowave from the padded deck of my 618 a couple of months ago. It left a big dent in the carpet and that big dent still remains in full force. It thought maybe the carpet would slowly rise back up but hasn’t yet.

You're screwed. It will never come up. Just put the protector back in. Looks better than a dent.

I have used a stiff brush on an area like this and it will eventually come out 90%

I think the main issue is he has a padded deck, although there are a few tricks to get the carpet fluffed back up, that foam rubber padding underneath is pretty much dented permanently.

Padded deck as Drew said is the issue, not so much the carpet. Carpet really doesnt displace and stay compressed, but foam padding will in that case.

Try warming that area with a hair dryer. The foam might get soft and expand some.
