Humminbird help 788 ci HD and 598ci HD

Ok So I have a little bit of a bitch but honestly I'm sure that it's 95% on me. I bought used a 788Ci HD for my Console and a 588 ci HD fortransducer the front to work off my trolling motor build in Minkota transducer. To begin with I can't seem to get the GPS going on either unit at all, do I need to set it up first. Next my console unit will not shown depth when I'm running. The units transducer is outside on the back of the boat. And lastly I bought this Humminbird Lakemaster software and put it in the unit and nothing. How can I get myself set and running? Any help or tips ?

GPS either works or it doesn't as long as the unit has a view of the sky.
Do a Restore Defaults to get rid of whatever settings were done before you got them.

Post a picture of your transom transducer installation.
Exactly how are the units connected to the battery?

My 898ci only had an external GPS puck antenna. Not sure about yours.

There is no “ci” version of 898. The 899ci HD SI Combo was the first 800 series with internal GPS antenna.
Both of his unit’s are “ci”.
