    250 SHO Availability

Any updates on how long it would take to get a 250 SHO on a boat other than a Skeeter?

Wow..... dead silence. Heard a rumor that they are not available until mid 2019. If so that would be the worse business blunder of all times. Those Mercury 4 stokes are going to have a very successful launch.

I just bought a new boat its waiting on a motor. I wanted the SHO but it wouldn't be here until December or January...so I went with the new Merc 4s pro xs it should be here in 2 weeks...if I'm lucky.

No way it’s not hurting Yamaha. It’s like saying every store is out of your product but selling your competitions brand. But hey we will get to feel shelves again one day. Wrong, you lost a lot of business while you were out. Just my 2 cents.

Does anyone suspect that they drew back on production with an expectation of market decline?

I am looking at replacing my 2006 250 HPDI with a little over 200 hours on it soon I hope the 2019s are out real soon. Wanted a four stroke when we ordered our boat.

I guess it would depend on why they are not available? If it is because production line or lines can't keep up with demand then I would say it is not hurting them, if it is because of poor manufacturing practices, supplier issues, manufacturing lines down and so on then it would hurt them.

My guess is there is a high demand for them and they can't keep up with production. Here in Michigan it seems every other new pontoon being produced now a days has giant outboard on them. The bass boat market is small in comparison to the overall boat market, we sometimes forget that there are lots of other types of boats that use this outboard also thus increasing demand.

Think how many boats got ruined in last years hurricane season along the coast and even inland. That's a LOT of motors that they didn't count on having to build to meet the years demands. It would be pretty dumb to be sitting on thousands of motors just for stock reasons. They are still catching up and boat demand is at a pretty good high right now also so they are having trouble. Someone posted that merc is only able to keep up with boats being made and cant get single motors out much yet either. Sounds like some big price increases coming to me

I called Yamaha sales last week about availability for a 250 SHO and was told March 2019. We are a large volume dealer and it doesn't help one bit. I ordered 2 F200'S for one of the Warden Service boats in May , ship date as of now is October and this is a law enforcement boat.
