Wife has school for work in Greeneville so im going to go to lake Hartwell. I have never been there. I think im going to put in at Portman Marine. ( across from Green Pond landing ) . Any tips would be appreciated.

If it was me I'd put in at Broyle's that's across the river from both of them and still in big water. It's a COE ramp, it's well marked and easy to navigate. There are shoals all around in front of there so you can toss a C-rig and keep top waters ready for when they come up schooling. I'd stick around the Andersonville Islands and fish all the points coming off them there should be plenty of brush piles off the ends of them. Good luck, and stop in at Lake Hartwell Fishing and Marine, one of the best tackle shops in the area.
