Went to the Chick on Wednesday

Caught this 8 pound bass on the Chick fishing with my grandson Eli. He helped me land her so it is our lunker for the day. We had to fish high incoming tide but made the best of it. We took our lunch break soon after catching this beauty. Beanie Weenies and Cliff bars!!!

I always caught biggest fish at high and around slack... Think that is how they get big,, they wait for current to quit moving and go eat,,,

Caught this one on a square bill crankbait. Tide was terrible but got lucky. Caught in Gordon's Creek.

It's getting more & more common to catch +7lb bass on the Chick. I heard that there was a +9lb and a few 8lbers caught yesterday during the Hookers tournament.

Yes it is more common. We had a member in our club catch a 9 pounder a few years ago during a club tournament.

This is good to hear considering most waters in the NE are suffering from, or experiencing, too much tournament pressure.

Nice fish, Hope we don't get any hurricanes to mess up the river fishing around here. The bass fishing is as good now as I can remember for size and numbers.
