Week of thanksgiving on St. Clair

I posted a similar post on the lounge but I thought that maybe you guys could help me out.

My wife and I are planning to visit her family in Detroit during the week of thanksgiving. I would love to catch smallmouth on St Clair while I'm there. I'm used to Texas where you can bass fish from a boat year round.

Is it too cold the week of Thanksgiving to bass fish? (I know you cannot predict the weather but curious about a normal year)

Also, is it worth fishing during that timeframe? I don't want to pay for a guide if the fishing will not be good.

    Thanks so much!

As long as there is no lid over their heads you can catch them. Fall is a great time to catch a monster. By then anyone still fishing is probably blade baiting due to the cold water temperatures. The trick is getting a day that is calm enough to get out there.
