Another thing to take into account is how restrictive some floor drain cover plates are. The cover plate in my boat can only drain about 25% of water compared to the open floor drain. I had about 10 gallons of water come into the boat once and was shocked at how long it took for the water to drain into the bilge. It doesn't matter that I have two 10000 gallon bilge pumps if the water takes so long to drain. If I have to make a run back to the ramp under questionable conditions, I'll hook up my extra portable 1000 gallon bilge pump ahead of time and temporarily remove the cover plate of the floor drain.

I put the plug and filled up the bilge to the top motor mount bolts. It leaked a little water out of the livewell drain (filled up livewell) but that was it. Both pumps were pumping out water from the bilge. It was coming out of 2 holes on the angled part of the transom. I wanted to know what pumps did what. It seems there are 2 1000gph bilge pumps. Only 1 livewell pump.

The pump on the left in your pix is the Aerate (fill) pump. If you have a Hydro switch, that pump is on the back of the livewells.

My dash switches. Then a manual lever for the livewell drain.

OK, there should be a removable panel between the tank and the livewell. The Hydro pump will be there. Here's a shot of the 93 I had showing the location of the Hydro pump. The tank crossover is aft on the 93. There are two hoses going to the spray head because I had installed a Flow-Rite Pump-out / Aerator (https://flow-rite.com/products/marine/aerators/ma-024-r) to replace the Hydro PowerStream Aerator (https://flow-rite.com/sites/all/file...383.1533041230).

I'd venture to say that the pumps are wired together so when you flip the switch they both kick on.

Oh...I would have thought one of the bilge pumps was the automatic one. Not controlled by the switch on the dash.....

It can easily be added to that style pump, Johnson/Mayfair makes an add on auto switch that clips on the side of the housing.

I thought about that......but its rare that this boat gets wet when Im not around. Im waiting on the waterproof connections and stuff to show up from Amazon then Ill be switching them out this weekend. Doesn't look too difficult other going head first into the bilge area and doing the wiring.

I already have some. After I connected them. I heated them to shrink them. And then I covered the connection with silicone to add extra waterproofing. I'm gonna pull out the boat this weekend and fill up the bilge and see how it works.
