The "Keelshield" can be installed yourself. There are youtube vids on it.
The "Hambys" Keel Guard is more difficult and should be installed by a dealer, it's also a better product than Keelshield, and costs more.

imho these are the best and the only two I recommend. I have had the Keelshield for 3 yrs now, and not one problem.
    Others may feel differently

I had a KeelShield on my skeeter for 12 yrs. that i put on myself....no issues with it and was still there when i sold it.....on my Phoenix i have been trying to find a place that does the spray on bedliner for a keel guard....i have not been able to find a dealer yet around my area.....that is my number 1 choice but if i cant find anyone by this winter, i plan on putting the Hamby's heavy duty.

Hambys heavy IMO. I've seen several others come apart from beaching on ramps.

My Keel guard has a hole in it from the concrete ramp. It might be all the way to the boat, but haven't checked that close. It needs to be replaced already after 3 years and 7 months. I need to check the warranty, I think it's a lifetime warranty according to what I see on their tv ads.

Here in the North we nose up on ramps during the fall and winter when they pull docks to avoid ice damage. Most of the guys use the Hamby's.

I have a Hambys on my 2013 920. Works and looks great. Definitely should be installed by a certified installer. Roger at Hambys was a great help when I purchased mine and walked my installer thru the entire process

Do not intend to hijack the thread, but does the keel protection cover up the typical "design feature of the three color patterns on the hull" partially or do you mount them below it?

Below those wings. That is what they are called - Wings. :-) I had to ask one day, before I picked up my boat.

Wings definitely sounds better than "design feature of the three color patterns on the hull"

    Thanks,
