98' JOHNson 200 motor what RPM is it suppose to run at? Water pressure?

I just bought a 1999 Aries 200XTE bad boat with a 98' Johnson and cannot get the speed I want but I know the jackplate is not high enough ... set around 4" below boat. The highest we have had the motor RPM is around 5500 at 50mph with 20psi water pressure. When going around 37mph the water pressure dropped off to 10 to 12psi at 4500 to 5000rpm . Does anyone have specs in this motor and what should the water pressure be and optimal RPM for this motor?
    thanks,
    shawn

You should be able to spin it faster than that. Check to make sure you are getting full throttle. Butterflies open up completely? Sounds like there will be a lot of testing & checking ahead for you.

Operating range is 5000-6000 RPM. You should set it up to run at 5800 RPM and no less than 18 PSI at wide open throttle.

What is the proper throttle linkage adjustment procedure on this motor? Does anyone have a manual I could buy to help me with the adjustments?
