    Bravo 1XS or Fury 4

    Bravo 1XS or Fury 4 for Z21

Running a Z21 250 Pro XS and going to get a 4 blade prop. Got double consoles, poles, Ultrex, and as much or more tackle than KVD. I am debating between the Fury 4 and Bravo 1XS. I am running a manual jack plate 2 3/4” ptp with a Croxton 25 Tempest and a 24 Fury. Am I wrong thinking the Bravo gives best all around performance? Need information from people with first hand knowledge. I am thinking a 24.5 Bravo is what I want. Thanks for any info.

I run the Great Lakes mostly so not much time wot. I’ve noticed the bravo to be about 2-3 faster than the fury 4. My 25p tempest is about 1-2 faster than the bravo. Holseshot is about equal with all

What is your prop to pad height for the Bravo and the Tempest.

I have a Bravo 1 XS 26P with limited testing. Running in 87 - 93 degree temps. Tourney load, 330 pounds of men and 45 gallons of fuel. Played with P2P some and though I could run more shallow I found that 2.75 was a sweet spot between speed and handling. When I went shallower speed only increased 1 mph but not as driver friendly. I have not raised it to the point of pressure loss yet so still some testing to do, my max rpm was 5840. The best speed I saw was only 69, before my Talons it was 72. Really nice ride in the 3500-5000 rpm range, extremely smooth and maneuverable. Still need to work on lower rpm's as I get some porpoising but I'm not driving in those rpm's often. IMO 24.5P is way low for a Bravo 1 XS. I also want to fine tune the PVS plugs, I have 2 full and 1 Large plug in now and holeshot is a little faster than my Fury 3 24P, it breaks over at 4000 rpm. I may already be set up for the best holeshot I am going to get but have not played around to verify. I ran my Fury 3 at 3.00 P2P.

I got a 25 Bravo1XS and run 2 solid plugs all other wide open and the boat gets on plane fast with no bow rise at all. Picked up 4 mph going from 2.75” to 2” ptp. Loaded down with 2 (450 lbs) people and a boy it ran 68.8 at 6000 rpm. Our boat is loaded with all tackle ( more than KVD) in the front of the boat and we have dual consoles. Very handy having rear compartments empty for use as you want from trip to trip. The boat will trim more but start to walk so I am sure it can be driven faster. The motor has 20 psi water pressure. I am going to keep the 25 because it seems perfect for our load and the ride and handling is great. Can stay on smooth plain at 17 mph. I am very happy with the hot humid weather performance. I won’t give up any of what I have for another 1-3 mph. My Fury 3 24 pitch ran at 3” ptp.
