    Rod Lengths & Techniques

Just curious, what techniques are y'all using the following rods/actions for?

    7'2" MH Fast - Jig/Worm?
    6'10 MH Fast - Spinnerbait/Topwater?

I bought these at a really good price and can't decide what to use them for because they aren't "technique" specific.

    Thanks!

Huh? I assume these were the MB Orichi rods?

Worm and jig and spinnerbaits are techniques. Not sure what you are looking for...

Lol! Sorry, I put those techniques in there followed by a "?" suggesting those specific techniques for each rod...

    Let me re-phrase...

What techniques would you use those two rods for?

Who makes the rods? Sometimes knowing the brand will help.

While I am not familiar with those rods, I can say that if I were gonna use those rods, I would consider both rods interchangeable. They are essentially the same rod minus 4". The longer of the 2 for distance casting a spinnerbait, worm, smaller jig, etc... The shorter one for the same techniques but for closer quarters. More precise casting.

Thank you, stingray. They are “budget rods” but I still intend on using them. They were too good of a deal for me to pass up. You can never have too many rods, right?

thwre is no reason to have $200-500 reaction bait rods. I have Nrx for bottom contact baits but reaction bait rods are all less than $175 each

Skeeter, I agree. I do not fish a lot of tournaments so the $99 to $150 rods work fine for me.

Being a topwater 1st guy I have had my best results with a 6-3 Impulse or 6-6 rod...
it all depends on the cover...open water use longer but in among trees/bushesunderhangs and docks...shorter means much more accurate overall...
I have caught bass over 8# on my 6-3 medium rod...

I use 7-3 MH fast tip for topwater 5 inch swimbaits over grass because rarely will grass have a lot of other treeccover all through it...
6-9 MH for chatter and spinnerbaits has worked very well....
    to each his own...

What you listed is the techniques I’d use with them. Almost bought the 7’2” to use for a toad rod. Weren’t they half off at Dicks?

x2 skeeterj01...spend the $ on a bottom contact baitcaster & all around spinning setup. Everything else are fillers
