    RT188 steering adjustment?

I have a 2016 Ranger RT188 and I have gotten extremely annoyed that the steering wheel is a quarter turn to the left when the motor is straight. I was going to pull the wheel and line it back up again but then I started thinking about 14 months ago when I bought it and I don't remember it being so far off center. I also don't remember the 3+ inches of play that I have in the wheel. Is this indicative of a problem? Is adjusting the steering tension something I can do? Thanks in advance.

Mine seems to sit off center to the left as well.

It’s pretty normal. once the new cable get worn in and has scratched. When I put a new cable in. I always off center to the right to about 1:30 clock. By about 20 holeshots, she is centered pretty good.

On the 2016 Ranger wheel, just take an allen wrench and take the cap head screws around the center hub loose. Rotate the wheel to the position you need and reattach.

Do yourself a favor and get rid of the cable and go with a BayStar hydraulic unit. Huge improvement, starting in 2017 Ranger themselves stopped using the cables

I'm sure that is good advice but my current home lake is 5000 acres. The largest lake I fish is 12000 acres but it's "fingers" rather than an open lake. I just don't have to use the big motor enough to need the upgrade. I will keep it in mind when we retire if we end up on bigger water. Thanks
