Question Forgot to Turn Off Ignition Key

I found the ignition key had been left on for a few days. Put gas in and turned key on to check gauge and forgot it. It is a 2018 250 Pro XS and I was wondering if something might got damaged. Last two trips out after fishing for a long time I had a very weak crank and had to jump. Did this ruin the battery or is it going bad anyway?

Sounds like the battery was on its way out and you killed it for sure.

That won’t damage the engine but your battery is probably toasted.

The battery was only 4 months old but it will run down within a couple hours running 2 12” graphs if the big motor is not started. I hope a new battery fixes it.

Those motors have a huge electrical requirement. You’ll want a group 31. I like Northstar X2 but there are others.

Here is a thread for you to read,,,http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread....batteries+meet

If new just take back and exchange it. Most battery's have a 1 yr or more warranty.
