    Z9 spare prop

Ok I did this to myself but....I recently buggered up my one and only prop (25p tp). Should’ve been prepared for this. I’d like to decide and purchase a spare while my front runner is being repaired. I’ve read some threads about a 26 bravo I LT producing some great numbers on set up just like mine.
(Z9 250 ProXS 10” Atlas 3” below pad. 1/2 fuel, mt live wells moderate load. just me. I get 68-69 gps at best running 5800-5900 with a blueprinted Tempest.) 67-68 with another guy along and full live wells. Other dude ran a little heavier but I’m unsure if I can rely on his numbers. 6mph improvement (66-72mph) going from 25 TP to this Bravo blade. Seems incredible. But ok. I’m really not all about the speed but I don’t want to make a $600 mistake with wrong pitch and design. Would I be happier with another prop. Say mayb a Fury and what pitch would be recommended. I’d like stay at 69-70. I’m sure this is a beat down topic but I can’t find the info I’m looking for.
    Thanks in advance.

Buy the prop from Rothwell marine so you can exchange it if you get the wrong pitch.
    Easy Peezy.

Full exchange huh? Interesting and very helpful. Thanks. Im also looking for someone that had experience with the Bravo 1 LT. Here is the tread I recently found. I may call Merc racing to see why they say and recommend. Basically FS or LT.

Rothwell only swaps in stock props, not special order and I think the LT might be special order. I do believe they charge a restock fee, but still cheaper than buying and trying a bunch of diff props.

Solid info. Many thanks I’ll give them a call tomorrow. I’ve got a 24p Mazco HP4 1” shaft for sale wonder if they take any trades. If not watch the boards if interested. Cheers

Rothwell will not take your used prop on a trade-in.

Yeah found that out today. They used to but no longer. It’s ok I’ll sell it. I did order the 26 bravo xs. Should be here Thursday. Should be a great prop and long over due.

Ok my new prop is in. 26 Bravo 1 XS. It’s a far superior prop than the 25 tempest plus in every way. Rock solid WOT.. no chine steering is much easier. Didn’t loose any speed actually gained RPM and some speed. It’s possible that the tempest was in worse shape than I thought. I gained RPM now running 5950 and an easy 70 gps by myself. 69 with a partner. Still trying to get the vent plug combo right. Started with 4 solid then added one medium but i think it was too much. Backed down to three solid. Appears ok slight cavitation on initial surge but doesn’t blow out so I’m thinking I’m pretty close. Z9 250 ProXS. Any body else help with how they are set up with vents? Great help from previous replies. Thanks

I was always told that the bravo didn’t need any plugs, I tried mine with & without, without worked better.

Greg at Rothwell said start with 4 and go go from there. At three now maybe I knock out another one and see what happens.
