    San Fran’s homeless problem

I visited San Francisco’s back in 1995 while TDY at Travis and got to see all the tourist attractions. It was nice then. It sad that it has really turned in to a mess. Maybe they should put Porta Potties on every street corner.

Throwing that much money at the problem and it still wont fix it, wow thats surprising. Its been 50 years that I was there. It was nice then. Wonder how much of the money is not reaching where it is suppose to go. Im sure 500 more to each of them would fix it. Really sad to see people like this

Over 7000 urban soldiers there--150 per square mile. It is physically a small city. Park benches rent for $750 per month.

I have served the homeless in Atlanta with my kids via several outreach projects. They are fed in Atlanta better than my retired parents, who are self sufficient, and enjoy many things like cell phones, alcohol and drugs that must cost something. I also understand there is actually an obesity problem with many homeless in Atlanta.

Talking to leaders of the Seven Bridges project, which serves Atlanta’s homeless, and they will tell you mental illness and choice are the two largest drivers to homelessness. While this country has huge issues with mental illness that could take years to even discuss properly, most people that serve the homeless will tell you that the fact a person CAN live in the street and eat well, be clothed, get beer, wine, drugs, etc without a job is the reason for over half the population out there. Hunger is one of the great motivators and it just doesn’t exist in the professional homeless community.

Me and my family no longer work down there cause it doesn’t do any good. There are beds and housing available and unused cause they just don’t want to be not homeless. It’s really a crazy deal when you go and see it for yourself.

Can't believe they would leave the guy laying on the sidewalk in the sun, they should cover him with some Shade Balls.
