It's not necessary to have an additional mount with the Phoenix dual dash mount. The weight of two graphs, especially 12" graphs, are heavy, and even the PS mount will not help support the poor shroud design Phoenix has. The weight on the screws used to screw into the console can for them to loosen up or even strip. This was my experience. Just be sure you check the screws after fishing rougher water.

The dual dash is nice but personally I don’t think that can hold up with the abuse I would put it through. 3” guage dash with a bbt Mount for me.

I have been running the Precision mount on a dual dash setup with 2 12" Lowrance units for 2 years now with zero issues, the mount reinforces the dash and makes it much stronger, as for the screws where the console mounts they can get easily striped out from over tightening and from very rough conditions on the water, I highly recommend that on any style dash or mount that while the dash is off to add some reinforcement behind the screws as many of us has done and it will be there to stay.

wow that is a awesome idea!!! What is the reinforcement made out of ? What holds it in place when you screw in to it?

    this will work https://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-OR-WH....Xstarboa.TRS0

I get a lot from amazon but it comes it bigger pieces, I like using the 1/2 thick stuff but you have to heat it to make it bend, the 1/4" will bend on its own

I’ll probably just stick with the 3 or 5” shroud. I’ve had both and never any issues. New boat is on order so I was curious about the dual shroud. I’m not too crazy about the look of the dual shroud anyways. Thanks for the replies.

I run a dual dash lower gauge shroud but I’ve reinforced the holes with cutting board material as mentioned. Also running a single 15” Solix which is a little lighter than two 10’s or 12’s. Burned 60 gallons of gas this weekend on Champlain and all is still tight. If I suspect any issues I will add a couple more dash screws also.

Bass Boat Technologies makes a mount for the dual dash shroud. It is not on their website yet but I can assure you it is the most stable mount on the market and can take any abuse you can give it.
