    Stowing A Trolling Motor

Do you guys stow your trolling motor with the prop to the inside...or outside?

I've been stowing mine to the inside for 20 years. Just installed a new Ultrex, and all the video's I see with them, guys are stowing the prop to the outside...

Is there a theory for stowing it one way or the other? My ranger cover has re-enforcing there, anyway.

I stow mine outside because I have seen more than one story about the trolling motor getting flipped on and burning up as the blade can't spin so it's not noticed.

With the ultrex, it only took one time of forgetting to turn off spot lock when stowin it and hearing the prop hittin the rub rail for me to always stow prop out now.

Mine stows prop out. But that is the default on the Ulterra and I don't see a reason to change it.

WOW, fortunately with the Ulterra when it goes to stow it shuts the prop off automatically. Glad you didn't do more damage

Prop to the outside. With my Motorguide, having the prop to the outside, stows the foot pedal all the way down. It's not exposed as much to road grime and or rain.

Prop inside due to the cover. The Terrova is turned off automatically in the stowed position. Plus my prop doesn't hit anything on either side.

In the ultrex a lot of people stow prop outside cause the head sticks out farther on the ultrex vs fortrex

What ever way it comes up. No reason for me to care as long as the peddle is not full down or up.
