Just saw the NBC evening news and they had a clip with a WWII vet that served on "The Ship That Wouldn't Die". Have to send out a salute to him and all his shipmates!! Was onboard the day the Laffey was decommissioned and it was years later I was at the Blessing of the Fleet ceremony and learned the history of the Laffey. SALUTE!!
