    Lake Chatuge

I'm headed to Lake Chatuge on Saturday (Lanier kicking my Butt) and wondering if anyone has some input. Its my first trip ever and wondering about ramps, general areas, patterns or hot spots... I have an open seat if someone is interested (No cost). PM me if needed.

You can put in at the fairgrounds and from there you are within 5 to 7 minutes from anywhere on the lake. It is a lot shallower than Lanier. It is a small lake that actually fishes big. It has a ton of good spots in it, and a few largemouths, but the largemouths are usually very big. Hundreds of laydowns in the creeks and main lake. Fish big water like Lanier with shakeyheads, dropshots, and topwater. Locals might give you more specific info.

Dropshot on humps (there are a lot of them). My favorite is Roboworm Prism Shad or Sexy Shad.

Don't forget about the GA.Mountain Fair starting up the 20th in the fairgrounds. The campgrounds and the hotels will be busy.

    BOW4UM,
If you use the Fairgrounds ramp, go to the Highway 76 bridge and fish the rip-rap on both sides. A Shad Rap ( shad color) or green pumpkin worm should work here. Continue on up the river to #6 point and fish this very carefully. Go to the next bridge and fish that rip-rap. #12point is another place to try. Keep a top water bait on and throw to any breaking fish you see. I hope this helps. PM me for more info.

Trip went well. Found fish in deeper cuts and on vertical banks. 8' was key and some top water. Had a limit about 11.5-12lbs. 7 Bass & 2 Hybrids. Looks like a killer spawn lake!! Ill Be Back!!!

You just don't know how killer it is a spawn time. 30 lb + stringers.

Yep. That's one of the lakes I missed going to, the bigger tournaments didn't go there so I quit. Carters was another I went to regularly then stopped. If I start back bass fishing these will be on my regular go to list. For fun only now!

I have never fished it in the late fall but looks like a heck of a spinnerbait, crankbaits
and fluke lake depending on how quick and hard winter rolls in. Then you may be with a jig, worm and spoon. November can be a month where the fish change daily even hourly depending on weather. When are you going early, mid or late November?

If the weather doesn't get cold quick, topwater will still be in play, at least early in the month.

We have a condo there, but haven't fished it since after the BASS AOY last fall.
You will probably get more response if you post this question on the NC page. It gets a lot more traffic than this Georgia page.
