What does a shell bed look like?

I can tell hard from soft, rock from weeds, grass from cabbage but for the life of me I can’t spot a shell bed

    Is it possible?
Does anyone have an image of a shell bed?

    Thank You

Humminbird has the Red/Green pallet to assist in finding shell beds. The green is soft returns and the red is hard returns. That is about the best way to find them.

Thanks for the link ! That’s the kind of cool stuff they just don’t put in the manual like they should. What’s the point to having this it if you don’t understand or know what it’s for?

Newer units have several bi-color Imaging pallets that will do the same thing. The posted examples are from 1100 series units that just have the single bi-color pallet.
The Red/Green one is the most dramatic though.

It's not designed to find fish.

They won't be the hard surface color.
