    Please help,,,busted fender aluminum trailer

Pulling our bay boat (Xpress h20),,,then BLAM! Tire exploded!
Busted up the fender (which can be replaced easily-bolt on/off. Thanks God my family is ok,,it shook the trailer pretty bad
The problem is that the rear step platform broke the welds.
The way I see it I have two options
1-take it to a guy that can TIG weld the platform back on (which will be $$$$$)
Option 2- or get some angled 90 degree braces and use some stainless toggler bolts/screws and attach therear step platform that way.
    Option 1 is about 200.00
Option 2-using toggler bolts prolly 30.00
But will drilling about 4 --1/2" holes for toggler bolts weaken the trailer?
It's an aluminum square 2"x4" tubed trailer...
    Please advise and THANKS!

Find a welder and weld it. This is no place for cheap.

Another option is to order a replacement original part. My starboard front step was damaged over the weekend. Replacement is $36. Part is on the way.

Another option is to order a replacement part. I had my starboard front step in front of the fender get smashed and ripped. Replacement part is only $36.

Not sure how big it is but guessing theirs 4 welds holding it in place? Shouldn't be anywhere near $200 my guess would be 40 or 50 bucks at the most shouldn't take a couple minutes to repair.

$200 for welds?? sounds high I would expect it to be around 1/2 of that.

Doesn't have to be rig welded. A mig will do it fine. Larry

Bolts will work loose. $200 is a good price for a permanent fix. Don't cheap out.

+1 if you're bringing it to them.

Why don't you post some pics so we can actually see what we're working with.

Some of us weld aluminum boat parts for a living...

Doesn't really need to be TIG welded, a shop with a spoolgun could fix that in short order.

Flex tape !!! If your being cheap about it go all the way !!!

Seriously your worried about the family’s saftey.. what happens your your little brackets fall off going down the road and the fender locks the wheel
