    What size trolling motor

I have a 2012 Z119 that currently has a 80# Minn Kota Maxxum on the front. I am wanting to get an Ultrex and cannot decide whether I should go back with the 80, or bump up to the 112. I would have to replace my charger as well.

Also I am wondering if I went to the 36V with group 29 batteries instead of 31's if 3 batteries will fit on the port side of the bilge area?

My current batteries are getting a little tired, but in general, I have been fine with the 24v 80# system. I just don't want to regret not going bigger when I have the chance. Thinking that with all the features on the Ultrex it may end up getting more use.

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks in advance.

I upgraded one of my boats years ago. Probably didn't need to but I was glad I did. Since then I always go with the more powerful TM. I've never heard anyone say " I wish I had less power in this trolling motor".

    Get the 112......

And get (4) quality AGM 31 series batteries.... You will have ZERO issues if you do that. Good luck.

I just bought a new 2016 Z119c and had an ultrex our on it. I went with the 113 and am happy with it. I can troll around on 30% pretty well and it moves the boat about 3moh at 100%

I doubt going to 29’s will allow you to put all three batteries in on one side. I have two batteries on each side and I’m running 27’s right now and it’s tight. They haven’t given me a problem yet but the boat is new. I don’t expect these batteries to last more than two seasons.

    Thanks for the reposes.

Yes, while I have never heard anyone say "I wish I had less power" I have heard "my hole-shot has gotten bad" from the extra weight of the batteries and charger, and also the cost of maintaining/replacing 3 batteries is a factor. I don't intend to skimp, but also like to be price conscious when making the decision.

Lape - Do you notice your 27's getting tired through out the day? Why do you think that our batteries won't last more than 2 seasons? The size or cheap batteries the dealer put in?
