    Backseat base repair

Hello all my Champ family... quick question on how to fix my seat base that's on the back of my boat.
2 of the 4 mounting holes are kinda stripped out and i have a new Atwood pedestal base to mount to it so it will fit the new pedestal sleeve i installed.
NOW my question is... is there a shady tree mechanic fix that i could do to the stripped holes before installing or mounting the new base to the plastic seat base??

If that's a seat base it's toast. You could try filling it with epoxy but it won't last long.

I would try filling the crack with JB Weld, build up a little extra on the outside around the molding & make sure you have the crack filled on the inside. You'll probably need to run a tap back in there to clean up threads. Be sure & clean the areas very good and might hit the outside with some sand paper. Got any pix of the top side so we can see what you have?

You don't. You buy a new seat.

Coat your bolts in clear shoe polish, make it thick, screw into holes, slather on the epoxy, let it dry and finally remove bolts. Bolts should release fairly easily but if not follow MMosher's advice above.
