    93 Ranger Fish And Ski Set Up help

    I dont know if my tach isnt correct or what but im only turning a 19p stainless viper prop 4500 rum at 41 mph. its a 397v ranger 20 footer with a 150 evenrude cross flow. it has a 6in jack plate. seems a little slow.

    Wow,in order to get the engine high enough on the transom to run at its best it’s going to be so high that the transom is going to be excessively stressed and likely will crack. You need 5” of height just to get the LU at even a normal setting so that means using two jack plates to get the engine around the 3.5” under mark, where it needs to be. You can hook up another tach or buy a mini tach from an auto parts store to see your true rpm. But,unless you have your engine already set way up now,the tach is probably pretty close. With an extra 5” of lower unit hanging down,it is plowing water and can’t turn enough rpm. I don’t think you have a very good combination there and probably won’t be able to get good performance out of it.
