    Need some help on a helix 5

    hello so I bought a new motorguide xi5 trollingmotor that has the us2 transducer I bought the lowarnce 7pin to hummingbird adapter. I was out this weekend and no matter what I did it would always show 55 ft dp and no real image. im I missing something here? thanks

    What transducer do you have selected? Is there a dual beam or 200/83 setting with that unit?

    If you decide to mount the transducer that came with it on the trolling motor, exchange it for the trolling motor version to reduce the possibility of interference. The trolling motor version has more shielding.

    sorry just noticed I said us2 its the motorguide version so I think its a lowrance transducer.

    Same applies as the Minnkota US2, both are 83/200 kHz transducers. Did you look at the compatibility list?????

    the helix 5 is listed I know it wont give me di but I just want 2d so are you telling me on the list that if the helix 5 di is not listed it wont work. if that's the case then I will most likely sell my di units and go to a different brand. that's one of the stupidest things.

    No the Helix 5 DI is not listed. Helix 5 sonar and Helix 5 SI are.

    If you had a more sophisticated Humminbird unit, then you could change the setting to HB 82/200 kHz and use the US2.
    The higher end units have more capabilities.

    and wayne if I had the helix 5 di g2 then it would work just the gen ones don't. once again stupid and don't talk down to me about the sophisticated units this one came on the boat and not everyone can afford the more sophisticated units.

    I don't see ANY DI units listed. Only sonar and SI units.
    BUT I think some DI units are compatible, it depends on what Connected Transducer Settings are available.

    Default 2D sonar frequencies for a non MEGA DI unit is 200/455 kHz and maybe that is why none are listed. I don't have the Helix 5 CHIRP DI GPS G2 I used to have to check.

    Added note, I found some screens shots from that unit and it has both HB 50/200 kHz and HB 83/200 kHz as sonar-only choices.
    It also has DI 200/455 kHz and DI 83/200 kHz. The DI 83/200 kHz is for the trolling motor puck XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T.
    It may be that the Generic 83/200 kHz selection may be required for the trolling motor transducers.

    Look at your unit's Connected Transducer settings to see what is available if it has that menu item.

    I spoke with the hummingbird tech support they said that the helix 5 di g1 use the 200/455 for 2d no option till the helix 5 di g2 to change to the other one. I have had this unit for a while and they wont exchange the transducer for the trolling motor one since I have used the last one. so I have to deal with interference all the time. so stupid
