Humminbird Rep said yesterday that the 2D thru hull Xducer could possibly be causing my problem. I didn't understand how.

I just ordered a new Y cable from BBG.

2D ranges DI, that's it. If you are getting a depth reading, you have DI ranging (the depth scale/ auto depth range).

The only other shared ranging is you have to have the SI range more than the water depth.

You have confused the hell out of me with that, concerning my "issue" with MEGA DI not displaying unless I choose the wrong Xducer.

I had no MEGA DI displaying with MEGA imaging Xducer selected.
I bypassed the Y cable, connecting the MEGA SI Xducer direct to the Helix. I now have MEGA DI displaying as it should.

Bad Y cable. Correct?

What Wayne is saying is that the DI portion of the Y cable is what is likely to be the problem. The 2D portion of the cable would have no bearing on the loss of the mega DI including the 2D adaptor to the MG trolling motor.

If they get the software fix for the false depth reading you should be good to go.
