1994 Stratos 201 XL jack plate height

I think based the attached images that my current settings is at 4” below the pad. Is that correct? Top of the level is the bottom of the pad.

Has 225 Johnson with 26p Raker. What should it be set at?

3.5" - 3.25" below the pad would be a good starting point for your particular boat...anytime you adjust motor height you MUST pay attention to water pressure and rpm. Too high and you lose water pressure. Too high and you gain rpm but lose speed due to slip.

Here is the correct way to measure prop to pad...On level ground level the boat, level the motor, measure from the LOWEST portion on the pad (this will be the LOWEST portion of the hull) to the ground. Measure from the center of the prop nut to the ground. Subtract center of prop nut to ground from height of pad to ground and this is your prop to pad distance...

Finally got a chance to measure and it was sitting at 5.5” below the pad. I am only getting 5500 at WOT with a 26p Raker. Will moving it up 2” bring the RPMs up any?

I came up to ~3.5” below pad. Still only turning 5500 rpms and 60mph on gps at WOT. Getting around 26-28 psi water pressure. I put in a new 40 psi Sierra gauge this morning. Should I keep coming up? I am puzzled because my 96 dual console hit 65-66 with a 27p renegade. Also, What should water pressure be at 3000,4000 rpms?

Also throwing a rooster tail level with the motor. My 96 201 didnt ever throw a rooster tail like that.

I'd keep playing with it, raising it 1/4 inch at a time. I ended up at 2.75 inch prop to pad, but my 94 201 is running a Mercury with a tempest so apples to oranges.

Do run it and adjust as need as the OMC motor run deeper in the water over Yam /Merc motor or lower unit ?
