Just more drama for the movement to feed on.

Let's see. First Looserville signs a contract with Pitino then fires him and possibly owes him dang close to 50 Million $$.
Then they kick Papa Johns out of the stadium he paid for 6 years before the deal is over and we, the tax payer, will probably end up paying again.
Looserville is making some poor business decisions that are costing the taxpayer money with no repercussions on those making these deals.
Let me get this straight. He repeats a word that has been said by several entertainers, etc... and the context he said it in wasn’t racist unless you just believes racism hides behind every corner, and for logical thinking people we know that not to be the case. And now he is bottled from his co. The business act by his coworkers and share holders are simply trying to save face and keep business (I understand that). The word only has power if you give it power. I’ve been called a cracker and a honky and it didn’t hurt because I didn’t allow it. Last time I checked it’s a word and not illegal to use, however I won’t use it unless it’s in a movie or rap song. Not cause I am scared but because I don’t have a need for the word.

Really?
Louisville spent 500 Million on the Chicken Center to satisfy Rick. That's $170 or so for every man woman and child in Kentucky. The Chicken Center is a hole sucking money that will never ever be satisfied. It can not pay it's basic expenses let alone make money. We are all paying for it.
Then there's the 50 Million Louisville probably owes Rick. Wanna bet we won't pick that tab up?
Now to this naming rights. Papa Johns paid for the stadium naming rights through 2024. I'm not sure what that costs, but I'm darn sure if Louisville cancels the contract before it's conclusion, it will owe Papa Johns money. Being that Louisville is a public tax money supported school as is the stadium, I bet we get put on the hook for more money.
Like me or not, figures and facts do not lie. Only the politicians who get us, the taxpayers, into these messes.

I guess I put too much stock in the George Carlin Seven Dirty Words bit he did decades ago. Words hurt, I get that. But words quoted from another utterer? I just don't see how those words hurt, unless you're quoting them in affirmation or in support of them.
Mr Papa was not saying those were his words. He was saying "somebody said something a BUNCH WORSE than I did".

Col Sanders died in 1980. There were a lot of racial slurs used prior to that time that didn't get a white man in trouble. It was anachronistic and quite unnecessary, both of those make the use offensive. Had he quoted someone getting away with it contemporarily he might have a half an excuse, but....
You self righteous a$$. What did I say that wasn't Fact? The fact that they fired a billionaire from a company that he owns 75% of the shares there of did very little to him other that piss him off. What it did do is cost a bunch of other people that aren't Billionaires or Millionaires or Thousandaires Money.
It will cost more for tuition and or taxes to pay for this additional mess the University of Louisville has the taxpayers in. That's fact. Taking the sign down and changing the name of the stadium puts the school and thereby the taxpayers in violation of the contract meaning they have to pay restitution to someone.
I have a friend who owns a Papa Johns franchise. He's got his retirement funds and child's college fund invested in it. While Papa John is walking away with near a billion dollars and a steady income from his stock and BTW: Still owning controlling interest in the company, my buddy is shaking in his boots for his investment.
How many people have retirement funds invested in stock in this company that can't afford to lose $10,000 just lost it because the stock tanks because of this storm?
The popular opinion is to Crucify Papa John upside down on the Gene Snyder Parkway. Problem is a guy who's 50 something years old with a billion dollars in his bank account can't really be injured too bad. It's the little people that get skinned on things like this. Some kid or kid's parents pay another $500 in tuition because of these decisions. They pay another $100 a month in rent for an apartment because property tax went up to fund the Chicken Center's shortfalls. Yet you say I am somehow insane, don't know what I'm talking about and my opinion doesn't matter.
Well this is headed to be closed. We do not need name calling, that closes threads.
