2014 Honda Pilot wont go in reverse

Had a battery die, jumped started the Honda and it wouldn’t go in reverse. Backed it out of the parking space and drove home from church but it felt like it started in 2nd it 3rd gear and then bumped hard into gear as I sped up. When stopping had the same issue again. Later when going to the dealership to drop it off, it went in reverse just fine, even thoUgh the battery still had issues with warning lights and messages.

I know the battery is bad, it’s being changed under warranty. Can power issues cause an issue with the shifting? Thanks for any help!

Some transmissions teach the main computer the owners shift patterns, and you have to drive them after a total power failure for them to re-learn how, when and where to shift.

I don’t know for certain if a bad battery is causing your issues, but I’d say it’s certainly a good possibility
