In the back of my mind is what happened to the 1st year SHO motors.
Did Merc.do more extensive testing .
I know initial testing looks good.
Should I wait & see the tour fisherman put them through hell for a year.
and see how they preform.

As always the first year of anything has more potential for bugs. I have bought first year and had zero issues. One nice thing is Mercury will probably act fast to remedy any issues as they went all in on this technology. They have been doing the 150 and 115 4 strokes as well as the Verardo with a good track record. If I needed a new engine today I would not hesitate to get one.

I’d say Mercury’s track record with releasing new fourstrokes has been pretty good so I’d go for it. I don’t think what happened with a different manufacturer on a different motor would have any impact on my decision.
