    Black or White Boat Bottom?

If ordering a new boat and you have the option of black or white for the bottom of the boat, which would you choose? Aesthetically, it does not make any difference as you can't see the bottom on the trailer or in the water. Does it make a difference while fishing (perhaps with follow ups for the musky guys)? Will one color show scratches more easily? I just don't get the reason for the option if you can't see it. I'm thinking of opting for the black, but was looking for some opinions.

I’ve had both black and white bottom boats. Yes, white hides scratches and is easier to keep clean. Black is a little more work, but with my color combo it looks better. For me the extra work for the black is not a deal breaker. I would get the one that looks best with the colors you chose for your top.

I've had black, white, and gray. By far my favorite was the gray. Current boat has a black hull.

I think black will sell quicker but I will have grey on the next one. Had grey on my last boat and it's a great mix of not showing scratches but not showing the water stains either. Black shows scratches pretty bad

for years vaious owned Boats white hulls,, never black, wife had a dull mustard yeller small fishing boat once lolo..but my 89 stratos is Grey Hull and I like it.. don't show dirt etc, course it stays clean anyhoo

But Black is High Maintenance Color, always will show chips, scratches, water film/scum. all variety's of water spots, Notice every water critter, various colors/ patterns on top and belly's usually white or grey. why?? cause predators hang below surface and that belly color, even sharks have grey bellys, so it blends with light from above, when below looking up.

I have not spoken with any fish lately but if you were under the water looking up you would not expect to see a black blob.

    Black
Scratches aren't bad and way easier than keeping white looking white. As for as from a fish's perspective, its just a dark cloud. LOL
I've proved that color is irrelevant. The fish swim away from them all.

I personally like black on the bottom of the boat. I doubt it makes any difference to the fish. You seldom catch the ones right under your boat anyway. Black is easier to keep looking nice than white.
