Float Trip for Smallmouth near Springfield

I'll be in Springfield at the end of the month for work. I was wondering if there any good smallmouth fishing floating rivers near there?

If so where? I won't have a boat so will need to rent a canoe or kayak or something. But will have my fishing gear.

Any suggestions?

I've thought about getting a guide on Table Rock but floating a river sounds fun.

You can try James River, has some smallmouth but more spotted bass.
