I played with G2 to 521L pad setup today in garage. Here's what I found using yellow ruler tape on jack plate (JPR), Atlas Indicator(AI) and actual measurements of pad and prop shaft. I know the Atlas indicator numbers are mostly reference points and are not linear to actual height. Here's what I got:
JPR on 1 inch, AI on 5 = 6.625" below pad
JPR on 2 inch, AI on 9 = 5.625" below pad
JPR on 3 inch, AI on 13 = 4.625" below pad
JPR on 4 inch, AI on 17 = 3.625" below pad
JPR on 5 inch, AI on 20 = 2.625" below pad. This max height, no more adjustment.
I'm looking for a good "Prop shaft below pad" starting point.
Prop is Raker HO 14.5" x 25" that came from dealer.
My last boat ran best at 3.5" below pad. Anyone with this setup know where motor should be below pad for best performance?
The picture shows my motor is mounted in the top mounting hole (lowest motor position). Moving motor up one hole would put my motor more of middle of the Atlas Jack Plate adjustment band. Would this be recommended or is the motor mounted in the top hole for a more important reason?
